after checking out of the hotel, i finally snuck away from my friends to spend some alone time in the city. so i made a visit to the asian art museum. i was very pleased to have seen so many ancient artifacts from angkor wat. it made me feel closer to "home." words cannot describe how overwhelmed i was of such a beautiful culture that i feel so disconnected from. i also viewed the current shanghai exhibit, which is running until september 5th. san francisco residents are so lucky to have this museum.
